Concert for Conservation, Performers Against Plastic

Walton Voices choir is organising a February concert- to raise money for the Marine Conservation Society and to encourage the local community to make changes in their lives to reduce plastic consumption.
We will be joined by the Weybridge Male Voice Choir and the Surrey Super Steel Pan Band, united under the title 'Performers against Plastic’,
Your support will help us raise as much money as possible for this valuable cause, as well as help to educate the local community on reducing their plastic consumption and leading a more environmentally friendly life.

The Jewel Hunter - illustrated talk

This month’s talk is by Chris Goodie when he will be telling us about how he gave up his job to spend a year searching for all 32 species
of the world’s pittas – that’s the birds not the bread! Pittas are dazzling coloured inhabitants of the tropical forests of Africa, Asia and Australia.
Chris wrote a book about his year’s adventure and it topped the Birdfair sales so do come along and listen as he shares his experiences with us.

The Great Brick Safari

Bonsai Society Show

There will be plants and bonsai equipment for sale. The Wisley Plant Centre will also host a re-potting, styling and advice service. Visitors should bring their bonsai trees to The Plant Centre by 12noon on either 23rd or 24th March, from £5 per tree.

Palms and Cycads, a Glasshouse trail

Come and follow the trail around the Glasshouse to discover everything about our featured palms and cycads. These exotic plants from faraway places first appeared in the fossil record around 80 million years ago.

FREE May Fayre, family fun
At Wheatsheaf Recreation Ground , Chobham Road, , Woking
Time: 12 midday until 4.30 pm
It’s May Bank Holiday, so the Horsell Scouts and Guides will be out in force for their main annual fundraising event, the May Fayre with Impressive Ridgeside Falconry Display team, Soft play, inflatables, face painting, Dog Agility and climbing wall,
joined this year by an exciting caving experience. Another new item for this year is the craft tent with local stalls where you will be sure to find that special something. Why don’t you also taking it easy by watching the talented Summercales
Dancers or listening to live music from the Music Marquee, filled with local singers and musicians to entertain you. Another enjoyable part of the day is the sampling of the delights from the cakes in the refreshment tent to the BBQ or pancake stall,
washed down with fine ales from the busy Thurstons Brewery beer tent; you, your friends and family will have a great day.
